For the convenience of visitors and streamlining tourism management Corbett Tiger Reserve has been divided
into six mutually exclusive tourism zones, each having separate gate for entry.
Welcome to Safari Booking to Corbett National Park. Visitors can book online Jeep Safari or Canter Safari for five different zones of the park namely Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhikala, Dhela and Durgadevi. All the procedures of Safari Booking at Corbett are managed by the forest officials as per the guidelines of India’s forest department. Please note that we cannot influence the safari zone, safari driver and the naturalist guide as it is not in our hand. It is solely decided by the forest officials. Though all the zones have healthy population of tigers and wildlife sightings are reported more or less same. These all aspects are managed by the automated computerized system to ensure the equal distribution of safari vehicles in respective zones.

Bjirani Zone
Birjani Tourist Zone is a very popular area of the spectacular Corbett Tiger Reserve. This zone is enriched with a huge number of floral and faunal species.
Birjani gives a tough competition to Dhikala zone while the tourist’s preferences are concerned. Bijrani safari zone is highly endowed with rich diversity of flora and fauna. Bijrani zone, situated at a suitable distance from Ramnagar is the most preferred zone for Wildlife enthusiasts visiting the park for day visit. It gives its visitors a wonderful experience of the beautiful forests.
Dhela Zone
This is the newest and sixth eco-tourism zone that was opened for tourists in December 2014.
Dhela Ecotourism zone remains open for tourists throughout the year.This zone is extremely rich in flora and fauna. The zone spreads over 1,173 hectares, which has mixed forests of Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera, Kusum vegetation, and tigers, leopards, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears and king cobras.
The area is particularly rich in bird diveristy.
Jhirna Zone
Jhirna is located on the southern periphery of Corbett Tiger Reserve. The animal population also comprises sloth bear and wild elephants which provide great sights for the wild life enthusiasts. Jhirna zone is open throughout the year. The Jhirna jeep safari zone is one of
the most eye-catching spots inside the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Day visit to Jhirna Zone is through Dhela Gate which is 20 Kms from Ramnagar. Its main topography mainly constitutes deciduous and secondary forest interspersed with plush open grasslands that offer
amazingly good visibility of wild animals.
Durgadevi Zone
Durga Devi Zone is the hill safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Located at the North-Eastern side of the reserve, this area is cris crossed by Ramganga and Mandal rivers at several places. This zone is particularly famous for sighting wild elephants and Otters at Domunda Bridge.
Famous Mahsheer fish can also be seen in the river water of Durga Devi zone. Lush green forest in this range provides ample opportunity for bird watching as well.
Dhikala Zone
Dhikala is the largest and most beautful zone of corbett national park with most of the safari routes on the side of Ramganga river. Dhikala is the named after the chaur or grassland od dhikala which is one of the biggest grasslands in asia.
Located 50 kms inside the dense forest of Jim Corbett, Dhikala Range is known for panoramic valley views and wildlife sightings.
Sitabani Zone
Sitabani Forest Zone. Sitabani is a hard forest area. Not a part of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, but is the only spot for bird watching in Jim Corbett.
The area is a favourite spot for tourists walking by and is popular because of its mention in the Hindu epic, Ramayana.
Dhikala Canter Safari
You can observe endangered animals like tigers in their natural surroundings in national parks. The largest and the only zone of Corbett Tiger reserve that offers a Canter Safari is the Dhikala zone. Located 50 km inside the forest, you can enter it from the Dhangadi gate, which is 18 km from Ramnagar city.
A canter safari (open bus which is able to seat 16 people accompanied by a guide) is a popular way to explore the Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is perfect for a large group of family and friends or corporate groups. One of the best ways to explore the wild terrain of the national park, canter safari is, however, available only in the Dhikala zone. Those residing outside the zone and wishing to explore the wildlife of the area can do so by opting for a canter safari. Canter Safari starts from the Ramnagar & Dhangari gate of the Dhikala zone. The timings of canter safari are Morning 5:30 AM and Afternoon 11:30 AM.
To enjoy a canter safari at Corbett, prior booking is essential. Official permission is required to enter the forest area as the entire region falls under restricted and protected areas. Two types of permits are issued
Now 4 canters are allowed at one time to go inside the Dhikala Zone in a single time and 16 tourists can seat into one canter. Travellers are accompanied by expert naturalist and Driver. Canter Safari is steered twice a day. Tourists can travel into the Dhikala zone by a Canter with a maximum of 16 passengers and starts off from Ramnagar in the morning and afternoon. These tours are called as Ramganga Conducted Tour and allowed by the management of Jim Corbett National Park. The tourists can board the canter either at Ramnagar or Dhangari gate.
Canter Safari Tariff
Canter safari can be booked online from the official Jim Corbett National Park. The price for Corbett canter safari is 1700 INR for Indian nationals and 3400 INR for foreign nationals. Indian nationals can make bookings 45 days prior to their visit and foreign nationals can do the same 90 days in advance.
To enjoy a canter safari at Corbett, prior booking is essential. Official permission is required to enter the forest area as the entire region falls under restricted and protected area. Two types of permits are issued –
1st:- Day permit (for jeep safari or canter safari) for both Indian and foreign nationals to visit the national park.
2nd:- Night permit for a night stay in government forest lodges.

Points to Remember While Taking a Canter Safari
ID Proof:
DL Number, PAN Card Number, Voter ID, Passport Number, Student ID etc.
Note:-
The Traveller has to carry the same ID Proof as submitted in this form while visiting Jim Corbett National Park.
To book a canter safari name, age, gender, and government-approved ID is required for all individuals.
The Canter will be available at a common point ( Corbett Reception, Ramnagar OR Dhangari Gate of Dhikala zone ).
Canter safari is possible only in Dhikala zone of Corbett Tiger reserve.
Booking for canter safari is open on a 45 days advance basis.
